报告摘要:Achieving high sensitivity is critical to the effective verification of biomarkers in biofluids using electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). The achievable sensitivity of ESI-MS is largely determined by the ESI efficiency and the ion transmission efficiency from ESI source to MS detector. This presentation will start with a brief discussion of the ion funnel based interface technologies and their capabilities to improve ESI-MS sensitivity. The discussion will then be switched to our recent experimental evaluation of the new ESI-MS interfaces on several MS platforms to achieve high sensitivity in proteomic sample analysis with focus on the improved limit of quantitation on a triple quadrupole MS. The presentation will conclude by describing our recent effort in developing microfluidics/MS based technologies for single cell “omics” measurements.
