Metallopolyynes and Metallophosphors: New Multifunctional Materials with Emerging Applications
WONG, Wai-Yeung
Inclusion of transition metal elements into organic scaffolds allows the hybridization of the interesting physical characteristics of metal complexes such as electronic, optical and magnetic properties with the solubility and processability inherent to the organic-based molecules. This lecture highlights the recent development of some multifunctional metallopolyynes and metallophosphors which can exhibit easily tunable luminescent and electronic properties. Considerable focus is placed on the evaluation of their suitability as emitters in OLEDs for display and lighting applications, optical power limiters for sensor protection, semiconductors in organic photovoltaic cells for solar power generation and polymer precursors to metal alloy nanoparticles for magnetic data storage application (Fig. 1). The approaches based on structural modification of the organic chromophore to achieve multiple-color phosphorescence emission and to tune the optical and photovoltaic properties of these organometallic materials will be presented.

黄维扬(WONG, Wai-Yeung),香港化学会主席,香港理工大学应用生物与化学科技学系化学科技讲座教授、前香港浸会大学化学系讲座教授兼系主任。香港大学荣誉教授、中科经理春应用化学研究所、大连化学物理研究所、吉林大学、武汉大学等客座教授。1992年获香港大学化学专业一级荣誉学士学位;1995年获香港大学博士学位;1996至1997分别于美国德州农工大学和英国剑桥大学从事博士后研究。现为英国皇家化学会特许化学家和英国皇家化学会会士;长期担任多种国际刊物的客座编辑与编委:如担任杂志J. Mater. Chem. C 副主编, Topics in Current Chemistry主编和J. Organomet. Chem. 亚太地区主编;担任Chem. Rec., Chem. Asian J., DaltonTrans., Macromol. Rapid Commun., Macromol. Chem. Phys., Scientific Reports, Dyes & Pigments等刊物的编委和国际编委顾问成员。长期从事无机和金属有机配合物合成、分子功能材料, 金属有机聚合物及其应用(如有机发光二极管和有机太阳能电池), 纳米材料和X光衍射晶体学等方面研究工作,在这一领域取得许多开创性的研究成果,现已在Nature Mater., Nature Commun., Chem. Soc. Rev., Acc. Chem. Res., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Energy & Environ. Sci., Coord. Chem. Rev., J. Photochem. Photobio. C: Photochem. Rev., Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater.等国际知名学术期刊发表论文500余篇,被国内外同行他人引用达到14,000次, 在ISI最近公布的论文被引用数排名中位于化学和材料科学领域1%顶尖科学家之列, 同时入选为2014和2015年汤森路透公布的材料科学领域高被引用的科学家, H-索引指数为66。
2007年获得香港浸会大学杰出教学表现奖,2009年获香港裘槎基金会“优秀科研者奖,2010年荣获英国皇家化学会“过渡金属化学奖”, 2010年荣获国家教育部高校自然科学一等奖(排名第一),2011年获首位本港学者获亚洲化学会联合会杰出年青化学家奖, 2012年获“日本化学会杰出讲学奖”和“何梁何利基金科学与技术创新奖”,2013获年度国家自然科学奖二等奖(排名第一),2014年获日本光化学学会亚洲及泛洋洲光化学科学家讲学奖(Eikohsha奖)。
