报告名称:Trend and gaps in the periodic table: a ramble through the elements 报 告 人:Prof. Dr. Sebastian Riedel(Freie Universität Berlin, Institut für Chemie und Biochemie) 报告时间:5月31日(星期二)下午15:30 - 17:00 报告地点:化学馆120室 Prof. Dr. Sebastian Riedel The main achievements and interests are: the prediction and synthesis of transition metal fluorides and oxyfluorides. Other research interests are: multipel-bonds between transition metals, prediction of new inorganic species, and bonding and electronic-structure analysis. He studied four semesters Chemistry at the University of Siegen. After his pre-degree "Vordiplom" he moved to the University of Würzburg..The Diploma thesis in Würzburg with Prof. Martin Kaupp in Theoretical Chemistry dealt with the high oxidation state +IV of mercury. The title of the work was "Quantum chemical analysis of mercury in its oxidation state +IV". PhD work was carried out with Prof. Martin Kaupp at University of Würzburg. The title of the thesis is "The Highest Oxidation States of the 5d Transition Metals". A postdoctorate at University Helsinki (Finland) with Prof. Markku Rässänen (Matrix-Isolation Spectroscopy) and Prof. Pekka Pyykkö (Computational Chemistry) has been carried out as a Alexander von Humboldt fellow. The main topic of this reaserach stay was the prediction and synthesis of heavy metal fluorides and oxyfluorides. All these research projects have been connected to the Finnish Center of Excellence in Computational Molecular Science. |
